About this app

Tesla has now created an in-car Dashcam / Sentry viewer that you can use on the car's screen. If you just want to view your Sentry videos, that viewer works and you may not need this app. But the app provides some functionality beyond what the in-car viewer has:
-More responsive and reliable than the in-car viewer
-Faster and slower playback speeds (.25x to 16x)
-Share and Save clips
-Zoom in and save full-sized screenshots
-Create composite videos that merge multiple cameras into a single video to share/save

With this app you can easily view the dashcam or Sentry Mode videos saved by your Tesla vehicle on your mobile device by removing the USB drive from the car and plugging it into the device with an adapter. These adapters are often called OTG adapters and sometimes come in the box with your phone.

Keep the adapter in your Tesla vehicle and anytime you get in the driver's seat to a notification saying "Sentry: 4 events recorded" you can pop out the thumb drive and look at the videos. Just make sure you hold down the camera icon on your vehicle's screen to ready the USB drive for removal.

If you're in an accident or a victim of a theft or vandalism, this tool can help you zero in on the relevant videos and share them with law enforcement.

With Tesla's native "Dashcam Viewer" in the car now, I've used this app less often than I used to. Recently I updated my smartphone and had to get a new USB A to USB C adapter so I tried it out again. I forgot how great it works! It allows you to scrub through all 4 videos at once, take snapshots, and open videos in an external app if you like. Also, you can quickly delete unneeded videos, which can be a bit cumbersome in the car. In an emergency, you can grab your USB stick from the car (don't forget your adapter) and have access to video footage even without your car present.

Great little app that makes viewing your sentry mode footage so much easier! A couple of things to mention. First, you'll need a cable to go from your phone to the USB drive. Second here are a couple of changes I would recommend. 1) 4x 5x, 8x speeds for viewing 2) The slider to delete is too small. Make it easier to slide. Other than that, this is a really fantastic app! Thank you so much!

I am updating my review and bumping it up a star. The bug with the "file not found" is still there but the developer made a work around so that you can view files in full screen, at least on my S10. Good progress. ___ Good with a couple of bugs. I can see 3 images from the cameras and 1 click on them to view in a larger screen. The app states to hold down the video for full screen. It will then say "file not found" even though it is viewable from the preview screen. Hoping that gets worked out.

This would be unusual on a newer device, but on an old test device I found that this problem was caused by there not being a media player installed that could handle playing h.265 video. I installed a free file manager (x-plore file mgr to be specific) and long-pressing for fullscreen playback started working for me on that device.
