Android 9 brought a lot of new features to our devices but in the same time, it brought an annoying drawback: The volume buttons control the media volume all the time and we have to perform multiple steps to change the ringtone and notification volume.

There is now a fix to this problem and it is called Volfix.

When Volfix is enabled, the volume buttons of your device will control the ringtone and notification volume by default. It will control the media volume while you are listening to any kind of sounds and it will control the "in call" volume while there is an ongoing call.

Volfix requires to be enabled as an accessibility service in order to listen for volume button press events and to map the buttons to control the ring and notification volume instead of media volume.

Please note that at the moment Volfix only works while the screen is on.

Really appreciate that I can control ringtone and notification volumes using the rocker with this app and can change media volume without also affecting those (whose idiotic idea was it to break that in the first place), but now with Samsung updates, when I try to take a screenshot by pressing the volume down and assist buttons together, the volume level slides out from the right and interferes with the shot. Otherwise, it's a 5-star app.

Reverts the android devs braindead decision to lock what the volume rocker does to media, and not allow reconfiguring it back. With android 13, this app pops up both notification AND media on the side, which still allows control over both without extra presses, and changes the notification volume by default, as it should. Thank you so much. Brilliant.

After my phone updated I could no longer control ring volume by default with the buttons and the option to turn off "control media volume" in settings is no longer available at all. Also the multi volume sliders that should show up when using the buttons doesn't work either even though the option in settings is still there. Go figure nearly every update brings another problem. This solved that and as a bonus this app doesn't collect any information nor does it have pop ups or ads.
