I've been using this application for a number of years. It comes in handy when i need to do installation and troubleshooting and maintenance, by just booting up boot images. However, on my current LG G5 phone i haven't been able to get it going. The phone is rooted (this app is one of the reasons I root my phones). I spent a good amount of time trying various settings but can't get it to work. Any help from the developer would be appreciated to get me back to DriveDroidian.
Probably the best app to ever exist :) Love it. No more reformatting memory sticks or SD cards and taking years off their lifespan! Also a great solution to the lack of USB mass storage in newer android phones :) a great feature would be to be able to use 2 ISOs at the same time. For example, one for the live OS, and one for external storage within the live OS. Don't know if that's possible but thought it worth a suggestion.
This is an amazing app. But... This app is awesome. Comes in handy so much. But recently since I switched to Android 7.0 the USB mode keeps getting changed from mass storage. Everytime the phone loses the connection to USB. This makes it very hard to boot properly because I have to manually fix the USB mode before I get to the boot screen. :( I may just downgrade from 7.0 if this problem persists
Saved me I was away with only my phone and laptop. This app saved me when I had to unexpectedly reformat my laptop without any USB sticks or any other way to reformat. Getting the image to mount was a bit tricky. The sample image worked right away but I had to spend a couple hours to get an Ubuntu image to mount and show up in my laptop's boot options. May be specific to my laptop so I still give this app 5 stars
Unfortunately, looks like the dev has abandoned this app. :( No updates since November 2015... Edit: Thanks for the reply dev, I wasn't aware there's a beta version available! Would be nice though if you could update the Play Store descriptions so that people are aware of the beta and the fact that you're continuing to work on this app. :)
IT Admin's swiss knife Carry all your bootable tools, like partitioning, memtest, linux and windows installers with you on one device. I just wish it was possible to copy files directly from the phone to the new img files (this is relevant for the ps4 update file). My first manual attempts with losetup failed unfortunately too.
