About this app

This application requires root

DriveDroid allows you to boot your PC from ISO/IMG files stored on your phone. This is ideal for trying Linux distributions or always having a rescue-system on the go... without the need to burn different CDs or USB pendrives.

DriveDroid also includes a convenient download menu where you can download USB-images of a number of operating systems from your phone (like Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSUSE and Arch Linux). Around 35 different systems are available at this moment.

You can also create blank USB-images which allows you to have a blank USB-drive. From your PC you can store files onto the USB-drive, but also use tools on your PC to write images to the drive.

Notes
• This application uses features of the kernel that may or may not be available/stable on your phone. Tests have shown most phones work without problems, but please keep in mind yours might not (yet) work out-of-the-box.
• Most kernels support emulating USB drives, some support emulating CD-rom drives and kernels with the right patches support both.
• Most Linux-related ISOs can be booted from USB drives, but some ISOs can only be booted from CD-rom drives or require some kind of conversion.

Paid version
• No ads.
• Resizing of images.
• Add your own download repositories. Nice for companies or groups that want to share custom or licensed images.

Didn't work for me. Pixel 2 Android 9... Root worked, images directory worked, but computer couldn't see the device image or in boot menu. Tried UEFI and legacy. I'll continue to mess with usb settings and maybe try a different usb cable, but otherwise I'm refunding. I probably should have tried the free one first lol but I was hopeful. DEV definitely put some work into this and not entirely their fault when it fails on different devices. Thank you for the work you do. App could use a UI update

This wonder is simply one of the most useful application I know for my Android phones. Say goodbye to burning CDs/DVDs/USB keys. Saves you time and frustration if you're the curious / experimental type of user. It works perfectly with LineageOS 14, 15 and 16 on a Samsung Galaxy S4 ( SGH-i337m ) It works perfectly with Gingerbread 2.3.5 stock rom on a Motorola XT760. Also works on Linux Mint 19

Had this app on my old Note 3 and it worked without any problems. Upgraded to an S9 Plus, rooted with Magisk and unable to host any images. The app works, can grant root access, find iso files but cant host them. Checked around for a kernel that supports cd/usb emulation and cannot find any.
