Somany Ceramics Ltd, the flagship company of Late Shri. H. L. Somany group, is one of the leading players in the tiles and sanitary ware industry. Recently, Somany Ceramics Ltd., was presented with The American Ceramic Society’s (ACerS) Corporate Technical Achievement Award 2014 for the development of Veil Craft (VC) Shield Floor Tiles having Veil Craft technology, for which Somany has patent rights. Earlier, Somany Ceramics has been awarded “Asia’s Most Promising Brand” in the ceramic tile industry, which is given to the most admired brand of the year. It has also been awarded “The Power Brands Award” for 2010-11, which represents India’s most powerful brand as chosen by the consumer and “The Indian Power Brand” for 2011-12 which is a testimony to being a true global Indian brand. Somany received in 1996 recognition from the Government of India for its R&D department (a first in the tile industry) and was the first tile company to be awarded ISO 9002 certification in 1998.
