About this app

Sonofield Ear Trainer (SET) is a revolutionary ear training app designed to help you intuitively play the melodies you hear and imagine. Instead of relying on traditional methods like intervals, SET focuses on helping you feel the unique character of each note within a key. By using sustained drones to create a tonal foundation, you’ll learn to recognize scale degrees based on their *feeling*, not just how they sound.

The app offers a variety of ways to train:
* Degrees Mode - Identify individual notes against the drone by feeling. The heart of SET.
* Melody Mode - Identify short melodic phrases, preparing you for real music.
* Voice Mode - Sing the requested scale degree into your microphone.
* Pocket Mode - Hands-free training for when you're on the go.
* Free Play - An interactive instrument for exploration.

With its intuitive, color-coded interface, thoughtfully designed progression path, and multiple difficulty levels, SET adapts to your skill level while keeping practice engaging. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced musician, SET is your guide to unlocking true musical fluency through intuitive, feeling-based ear training.

Fantastic app, I bought the pro version immediately after trying. Because of the drone, it's a far more meditative experience than Functional ear trainer. I would love stats tracking to be added, so I can see my success ratio on every interval. I don't have perfect pitch, but I have a feeling that it's harder to hear intervals in certain keys, and I would love stats to show me what keys and intervals those are, so that I can train for those keys and intervals specifically.

I'm happy that this seems to work for so many people but it should really have a "dummy mode" or something for people who do not naturally "feel" the different intervals. I have been continuously retrying the first level for many days and I generally do about as well as I would by guessing randomly. The app says the intervals should feel like different emotions but they feel like random notes to me. Maybe I'm bad, but it feels like there's something basic missing and no help as to what.

I have been a musician a long time and used many ear training resources. By far, this is the best one I have used. It is the only one I have seen so far that trains our ears using how they actually hear -- in relation to a tonal center. It goes straight to the core of how we hear in the modern 12-tone system we use today. I wish that I used this ear trainer before I ever started doing anything with music. It makes intervals, chord progressions, and improvising super easy. Thank you, Max Konyi!
