2025 Update: Still can't cast from YouTube Music app, still can't like/dislike songs, still terrible. 2024 Update: App is still garbage. Initial Review: Can't cast music from Android device. Can't thumbs up/down songs when playing YouTube Music on the app, and can't cast to Sonos from YouTube Music app, so users are forced to use this horrific app where they can't customize favorite songs / songs they hate. App is a slow, cluttered, unintuitive mess.

I don't know what Sonos have done. But the connectivity on my Play 5 Gen 1 was always pretty poor given Sonos is one of the top brands. But they seem to have taken a poor system, remodelled it, and made it so poor that the wireless function just doesn't work and, even when Hard Wired, the Spotify connection is now unnecessarily over complicated and clunky. You get better functionality from cheap chinese stuff. Absolutely shocking.

YT-music app works as it should but I pay for the premium yt service so maybe it's what makes the difference. I have seen some people say it doesn't load playlists but all of mine are there. Note I just got 3 of these gen 2 connect devices for free from a house remodel. The power they pump out is pretty impressive for a little box

Renamed the Sonos S1 Controller, this app supports systems that include the oldest Sonos products. Systems supported by this app will continue to receive bug fixes and security patches but will not receive new software features found in the new Sonos S2 app and will not be compatible with Sonos products released after May 2020.
