I really love SONOS as a company. The speakers are amazing! The app used to be too. Unfortunately the latest update (10/2017) is more of a downgrade... The interface isn't friendly at all. Everything seems so cluttered, huge and difficult to use. I much prefered the slide-from-left menu than the bar at the bottom. I hope they go back to the previous version wich was really clean, pretty and easy to use. You shouldn't mess with something that is already good.
Downgraded my rating due to this newest update (10/2017). Less user friendly for the poor layout/UI. It is obvious they are catering more to music renters and not music aficianados who possess larger collections of music. The bright white background is not eye friendly, especially in a darkened room which would be common for a party or when focused on the music. After 8 years of being a user I am looking into another option.
Wow. What was the design thinking behind the new app? Love, love, love the speakers - just bought my 5th, over 11 years of ownership... 5 stars for the speakers. But this new app - really struggling with it. And all the white everywhere... Give us a night mode please. My eyes!
Had Sonos for 10 years, big fan and have liked the apps. This one however is a step back. All of a sudden I'm really having to think where things now are. Navigation is clunky and a lot more scrolling action required due to poor layout and those massive icons. What's going on Sonos. Please let me roll back to the last version.
The old app and user interface was so much better. This is one is not easy to use, and I constantly find glitches and unresponsiveness when attempting to group or ungroup speakers in different rooms. I never had any issues with the older versions. I generally rave about everything Sonos. This is a huge disappointment!
Update.... What a shower of S**t this app has become. Since the last couple of updates Apple Music just continually stops working through the controller. Ill start the app and it cant see any of my speakers. Used to work flawlessly, added another speaker...fine. Updated the app...constant problems. Now everytime i want to listen to music i have to restart my phone, restart my router, power cycle the speakers, re-add apple music to the controller and hope for the best. Wish i could go back to an older version 😔
