Useless for me. First time getting the smartphone-to-camera connection takes a while. Pairing is not remembered, so gotta re-do the whole connect from scratch every time. After the initial pairing, this app should be able to 'just work' without a deep dive into the camera menus. Using the phone as remote shutter control is OK, and update to ver5.8 looks better. Intended use is group photo, but a group is not going go wait while I struggle with the phone connection.
App has seen continual updates and improvements. Speed and stability are much better than before! Still can't copy some file types to the mobile. :( Would like to control video recording functions on the a6000. Now has a more user friendly menu for action cameras. Many menu items have abbreviations which should be explained in English.
So I have been using this app now for over a three years on three different Sony cameras that side of it has always been perfect, I started using it Android wise on 4.1 so I could save to the SD card, of course with KitKat that was no longer possible. However Lollipop gave access to the SD Card again and I would love it to come back that I could save to the SD Card as I have a 32gb card and if I were to fill it (unlikely but could happen) between access to the devices I wouldn't be able to transfer in one go I'd have to break it up as none of my devices will ever have the full amount available but they all have 64gb cards! So how about it Sony?
I hate the new version because in landscape mode I can't se the setings on screen. I think that the whole point of this app is to see the changes you make in real time. With the new version, in landscape mode is setings or fpv. I am using this app with a Sony QX1 lens camera so no view finder or camera screen option. Disappointed
The new update makes no sense to me. You can no longer upload batch photos to you or phone or computer. The new update restricted to just a few pictures at a time. I have no idea why but it is the opposite of helpful. It's a downgrade and it's intentional and there's nothing you can do about it. And it's updated again and it's even worse for me now.
A bit clunky and basic, but it's pretty cool once it is syncing automatically with the camera. Worth taking the time to set it up and get used to its quirks.
