Love that this app integrates pretty well with Spark Recipes where I may choose an already-submitted recipe or input my own. Upgraded to the premium features to get even more analytics. I like the UPC scanner to add foods to my day easily. In general, great app but, unfortunately, can't find any way to correct some nutrient counts that are inaccurate (realize formulations sometime change, which may explain why some foods like GrapeNuts don't accurately show any iron even though package shows it is a significal source (90% of daily needs). User-contributed items in the database sometimes show incorrect nutrition counts in other areas, too, so ratings for accuracy would help to choose for the log the best entries. Would give this app 5 stars if there was a way to improve accuracy.
I am very pleased w this easy 2 use app, the cost is reasonable, and the support team is awesome! There's also support from the community of folks w goals 4 good health & weight loss. This app has tons of free articles, tips, suggestions etc. I highly recommend SparkPeople to others.
I love this app! It is simple, but provides layers that allow you to get as deep as you need for your specific nutritional needs. You can define specifics related to your situation AND you can build connections with others in similar situations in a social format. The fact that the app is free continues to amaze me!
Absolutely love Sparkpeople! Food tracker is very easy to use and you can scan upc labels of your food as well. Great motivation and a successful start to living healthy lifestyle and losing weight.. You have to do the work but with this app you can stay consistent so much easier!
If you don't already use this, DO NOT get this app. I've used Sparkpeople for 8 years, because it was the first app I tried and it was good enough. Recently, the app introduced POP-UP ADS, so now, every time I enter calories or fitness, I get a FULL SCREEN ad that I have to MANUALLY CLOSE to continue. It is infuriating and leaving me with a tough choice---delete the app and lose my 8 years of data, or keep going despite the HORRENDOUS ADS. If you don't want to be in this situation, find a different calorie tracker.
I've tried a lot of calorie counting apps and sparkpeople's food directory is by far the best one out there. It's really easy to scan foods, find what you're looking for, and add a food item that's not already there. Very thorough and user friendly even if you've never used this kind of app before! Sparkpoints motivate you 👍 Edit (6/5/17): still LOVE this app! My only complaint is that going to the home screen is such a hit or miss now. Usually I have to press the back button which closes me out from the app altogether! Would love if the home page was easily accessible again!
