Besides compelling drama and riveting plot, Mahabharata is unique in many ways. Larger than life characters including that of Lord Krishna, considered as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu; Bhisma - great grandfather of principle warriors, who pledged to serve the kingdom of Hastinapur and ended up being a silent witness of its fall; Arjuna - unparalleled archer of that time, who laid down his arms at the beginning of the war; Karna - son of Kunti who ended up on the enemy camp due to misfortune; Yudhisthir - an icon of truth who was compelled to lie to win over the battle; Duryodhan - son of blind king whose unending ambitions became the root cause of trouble; Dronacharya - accomplished teacher of that time, who was forced to fight against his favorite student Arjuna...all make this epic spectacular and fascinating.
Through the medium of this Application, it is our humble endeavor to make this grand epic available to ubiquitous Gujarati people. We earnestly wish that it will help pass on the great message of Mahabharata to our coming generations. Your responses on this offering are most welcome.
Let us chant - Om Namo Narayana Namah and get the blessings of Lord Narayana.
The Bhagavad Gita, also more simply known as Gita, is a 700-verse Hindu scripture that is part of the ancient Sanskrit epic the Mahabharata. Since the Gita is drawn from the Mahabharata, it is classified as a Smṛiti text. However, those branches of Hinduism that give it the status of an Upanishad also consider it a śruti or "revealed" text. As it is taken to represent a summary of the Upanishadic teachings, it is also called "the Upanishad of the Upanishads".The book consists of sayings of Lord Sri Krishna to Arjuna.
The text is in Devnagiri / Hindi with Audio in Sanskrit

Faced with a fratricidal war, a despondent Arjuna turns to his charioteer Krishna for counsel on the battlefield. Krishna, through the course of the Gita, imparts to Arjuna wisdom, the path to devotion, and the doctrine of selfless action. The Gita upholds the essence and the philosophical tradition of the Upanishads. However, unlike the rigorous monism of the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita also integrates dualism and theism.
Numerous commentaries have been written on the Bhagavad Gita with widely differing views on the essentials, beginning with Adi Sankara's commentary on the Gita in the eighth century CE. Commentators see the setting of the Gita in a battlefield as an allegory for the ethical and moral struggles of the human life. The Bhagavad Gita's call for selfless action inspired many leaders of the Indian independence movement including Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who referred to the Gita as his "spiritual dictionary".
This app contains the text in Hindi along with the audio.

Sanskrit is one of the oldest languages and is regarded as the language of the Gods. Sanskrit is the language used for a large corpus of Hindu, Buddhist and Jain religious texts. Sanskrit literature encompasses a large and rich tradition of poetry, drama, scientific and philosophical works. While translations are available for most of these texts, it is most satisfying to obtain this knowledge directly from the primary sources.
Hinduism Today magazine rates this as a must-have app:
".....Sanskrit Primer is a boon for Sanskrit students. Containing easy reference guides to grammar and terminology, with accompanying audio pronunciation files, this app is a must-have for anyone looking for a convenient pocket reference guide....."

Sanskrit Teacher *****
This is a fantastic application. I have taught Sanskrit to yoga students and others all around the U.S. and Europe and I would have loved to have this app when I was first studying. Even now, I find it to be an incredibly valuable app. It goes from simple understanding of the alphabet, through all the most important information of noun declensions, verb conjugations, prefix, suffix, indeclinables, even many basic conversational sentences. If you're not sure of the pronunciation it even has audio for that. I would HIGHLY recommend this application for ANYONE interested in Sanskrit! I was totally amazed by the amount and depth of information. Literally hundreds of pages. Even basic vocabulary pages, and much, much more. Well worth 10 times the price!

i deeply appreciate the thought and effort that has gone into this application. it will take you through from the beginning to a good level of understanding the language. it's been great on train rides and when i was in between places to keep learning devabhasha or what is called the divine language. it is called this as it is a perfectly ordered and perfectly intelligently language and has not changed nor will it ever as the structure is perfect. so all kudos to this wonderful application and may there be many more applications in this light. namaste. hari aum.
This is an excellent app for anyone wanting to get started with and get the basics down of Sanskrit. It's obvious the developer spent countless hours formulating the audio and text. Very detailed! The audio clips and the appendix are truly handy and makes it so much easier to use this as a ready reference. There is nothing like this out there. Great job!!!

The material is very well researched and organized. It's an excellent introduction to the language. Great job!!!
Excellent App *****
Just love the app. I studied Sanskrit from my high school until college. Though I still understand the language and the basic mechanics of it, I had forgotten quite a bit of the nuances and this app does a wonderful job of reminding me all of that!....
