Great initial release. I think the app is great, though I think it could use a few things. 1. A pause at the end of a sentence. 2. A Longer pause at the end of a paragraph. 3. Quick stats in one of the corners. Page, paragraph, line, time in, time left. 4. Multi touch controls. A. Play while a hand is on a HOT spot position. B When hand is removed the playback pauses. C. Swipe left to back up one sentence. D. Swipe up to backup a paragraph. E. Zom uot mode to view as a eReader. The pauses will help with comprehension, like blinking at the end of a sentence does. Navigation helps when you get lost a bit. Hot spots help control playback.
Good Refresher Many years ago I learned speed reading and got very good. The problem is I fell back into old ways. This app enabled me to refresh my skill and reinforce thing. Works perfectly for me.
Good but needs better control of start points and "jump back" Overall very good.... Couple things that are needed... I would like to have better control of where to start or navigate to in a book or reading material. The slider navigation doesn't work well... would like to enter my own word point (type in a value) or something ... Need a better navigation while reading/starting Would like a button that I can configure (set a value in the settings) to "go back"... speed reading requires practice and if my brain is distracted for a moment, i can miss pages of material. Often, I want to "jump back a few pages" and re-read some of the material, and I have to go try to slide the slider bar a % or so, just a bad experience there...
THIS IS AN AWESOME APP'!!! THIS APP IS REALLY GREAT AS-IS. IT IS ACTUALLY VERY CLOSE TO PERFECT, JUST MISSING A FONT-SIZE SETTING AND A FONT-FACE SETTING. EVEN WITHOUT THOSE, IT IS EXCELLENT. IT IS WELL WORTH THE PRICE. IT IS A TIME-SAVER AND A BRAIN-BOOSTER. I HAVE TRIED MANY OTHER SPEED READING APPS FOR ANDROID AND THIS ONE IS THE BEST OVERALL RIGHT NOW. IMHO. A BIG THANKS TO THE DEV!!!
Great Start With a few tweaks this could be a five star app. I love using it but it needs - a better interface (how about a real time left in the book as you read?) - ability to choose a display font - Better bookmarking (maybe the ability to embed meta code in the text for predefined book marks or pauses) - how about linking to Google docs? - how about a max character display option? Like I said I've been using the app and until the Kindle App incorporates this I'm all in.
Love it Use it to skim a book then go over it again and take notes of important facts. Works surprisingly well. Next, how about using it to "share" a web page
- You can specify a specific number of characters to display (rounded up to the nearest word). When both the number of characters and the number of words are set, the application will use whichever is longer.
- Improved bookmarking
- Lots of bug fixes
