app is bad, hardware is phenomenal . I've been using this for over a year and the same issues despite working with their support(who is very responsive). like others on here. every time I go to cook I have to go thru the pairing process. I'm assuming it's because of mesh wifi home networks causing issues. still pretty unacceptable for this day and age. they should find a work around. on the hardware side, I hate the delay then you go to set a temperature and it takes 4 seconds to warn to close

First, I love the Venom controller. it's great for keeping temps consistent. The app leaves a lot to be desired. There are issues that definitely need to be addressed. It frequently disconnects, even when the unit and my phone are less than 10 feet from the wifi source. It doesn't save cook data if it disconnects. The alerts are practically silent, and if you're not keeping it open, it snoozes in the background. So you may not even get temp alerts until you open the app and it fetches the data.

The app does what it needs to do mostly. One improvement would be to default to the devices section, at least once you've paired one. Seeing the how-to videos every time I open the app is a bit irritating, especially during a cook. Not convinced that the temps displayed are completely accurate - meat probe seems to be 10-15 higher than actual. Connection issues occur, though they are relatively easy to resolve, assuming you're near the grill. The product itself (I have the Venom) is awesome.
