A problem: it seems to run out of sync with my phone - often saying it is playing the previous song on screen but producing the audio of the next song. It looks nice and I like I can cast from my phone/laptop but it is buggy at present. I do hope you improve this. 4 stars if it wasn't buggy, 5 if you increased the interface to allow better navigation of more aspects of a large library.

The app is a little barebones compared to the phone/tablet app, but it's mostly functional. My biggest issue is that, on my Nvidia Shield Gen 2, it randomly pauses for no apparent reason. Also, no radio stations or equalizer? Needs improvement, but it's still the best streaming app out there.

Very Basic app! Needs a lot of work. Browsing is clumsy. The playlist cannot be sorted by 'last added'. Doesn't have the repeat 1 option. Cannot access the Equilizer settings. Doesn't remember my last song/playlist. Search results are hard to navigate. Mobile app is Fantastic. I wish they put some effort into the TV app too.

Average. Would be nice if it could remember I logged in (either manually or via Spotify Connect), because now I still have to undertake an action to start listening to music every time I boot up my TV. Also, since my TV is connected to a hifi sound system, settings for audio quality etc. are missing!

Too skinny. Not even the most basic of settings are available: stream quality, crossfade, same volume for all songs. So it's functional.

Browsing is good on TV. Just hope that equalizer will be included into this TV app so that users will have a better music experience.

I'll start by saying I'm a premium subscriber and I have this installed on the Sony Bravia XD93 connected to a Denon AVR-X4300H. If you've got lots of playlist folders you've created for your playlists, forget it - you can't see them in the app at all. You can see playlists only and not the folders, which in turn makes the Your Music tab look like a random mess. If you like to configure the bitrate for maximum sound quality, or mess around with the gapless play settings, forget it - there are no settings for anything at all, you can log off or on only. It plays at the default bitrate not the highest quality bitrate. I'm constantly changing the volume for different songs as there's no way to normalise audio. The voice search is welcome but it searches Spotify's entire db without suggesting songs from *your* playlists. Very annoying when you want to search your own music only. The app UI looks pretty but feels a country mile away from premium because it lacks the same basic settings found on the Desktop & Android Mobile versions. More often i cast from my phone via Spotify Connect directly to my Denon, bypassing the AndroidTV app altogether for a better experience.
Finally Spotify on Android TV, been waiting for a long time! :) The app is decent, however it could be a lot better. It's quite buggy and plays the same songs over and over sometimes when in a playlist, and the fact that you can't reach the ordinary toplists(top 50) is really wierd. The app doesn't really seem to be made for the TV, UX-wise. I'm using a Sony Bravia KD-55X8505C. Hopefully the app will see a revamp and enhance the experience of Spotify on TV.
Nvidia Shield - App seems to work okay and UI workable. However as a premium subscriber the Android TV ap is missing the option to select your desired audio quality. From what I can tell it is just using the default bitrate, which sounds absolutely terrible on my good audio system.
I like this app. Can you fix 2 bugs, that I have? On Nvidia Shield Android TV is problem with playing/pausing with Nvidia Shield remote and also the app is randomly stopping playing. Second problem is, that you cannot return to the app from recent icon after some action like general voice search in system. Thanks for your support.
I'm really happy this is now available for Android TV. Removes the need for a Chromecast. The interface is not as easy to navigate as it could be (no artist view) but you can just find the music you want and queue it up from your phone/tablet. Thanks Spotify.
App was made far better by the integration of voice search and other features which now make this my first choice for spotify on Android TV. Thanks for listening to the feedback

Hi Scott. This is now supported. Can't press back to get out of the app - also if you have normal app on other devices and setup following, etc these are not brought across - also there is no way to follow artists on this version and when searching seems limited

Hello Mike, back now exits the app and voice search is not supported. Great that albums view appeared ! Still some polishes are needed (going back from searching album/artist screen removing typed name which is very hard to retype on TV) but overally 4/5 at the moment :)

Hi Artur, Albums are now available under 'Your Music'. Nvidia Shield - Exit from app not possible using TV remote on Samsung TV. HDMI-CEC remote doesn't have any home button possibility It's just got back button. Very frustrating. I have to use Shield gamepad just for the home button to exit from Spotify... Otherwise app works well, I'd just appreciate more setting possibilities, like for music quality and other stuff like in the phone app...
It's been a long time in the works, but it is not a fleshed out app. But this is common for Android TV right now. I'm not sure it will ever get better, or we'll ever get another update, but it can work. But sometimes Spotify Connect will just drop connection to it, like it does with Chromecast Audio. You can't seem to control the app on Android TV from your phone as easily as through desktop clients. If you are on the home screen and hold the play/pause button on the tile it will skip a whole bunch of songs. Seems to be some sort of skip track button but not sure. Please update with bug fixes.
My playlists with a few hundred songs only shuffle through the first 50 or songs.
Spotify for Android TV, been waiting a long time. That said it's not what I was expecting. Seems very feature poor. No obvious way to browse content as you would with the Windows APP or on regular Android mobile devices. Settings? Where? How do I know what quality setting is active? Spotify thanks for finally getting around to this but it seems like a half-hearted effort. Look to Emma for Spotify if you need some design tips.
Claimed it was going to require a controller, but I was able to use the remote. Finally I have a decent spotify client for android tv!
Finally! Totally replaces Emma for Spotify. The login process is super easy and the UI is pretty great. It even lets you listen in the background! All it needs is integrated lyrics and it will be the best Android TV app in the Play Store
It works. The navigation isn't all that intuitive, but it does the job. Here and there missing some animations, like when switching to the next song on an album. What's bugging me the most is the inability to play a playlist consisting of songs that are local on my PC. The mobile app handles it well; it downloads it for you, but the AndroidTV version just doesn't want to play/download it.
Thank you so much for listening to us! I've been waiting for this app and you guys deliver.
Does not work on PHILIPS 55PFK5500/12 andoid TV hanging after start with 3 dots animation. Request gaming console for some reason. Why do I need a gaming console to listen music?

Hi - This is a unfortunate bug where won't load if the language is unsupported. This is now fixed. Please restart the app by going to Settings - Apps - Spotify - Restart or Restart your system. A gamepad is not required. Thanks for your comment. Please make the Android TV tile green and not black, it makes it look like a missing tile with the black background , and isn't Spotify traditionally green anyway?
not displaying any album artwork on my sony bravia android tv, just the music that I stream can be heard and the "Spotify..." loading logo is animating on screen :(

Hi, This is now fixed. Please restart the app by going to Settings - Apps -_ Spotify - Restart or Restart your system. Apologies for this. Roku Streaming Stick check, Amazon Fire TV Stick check, Shield Android TV Check. My only player missing Spotify is aTV4. Thanks for the release!
Nice, but it keeps playing/pausing, even when opening another app on my Sony AndroidTV :(
Great music streaming service! And finally I can use it on my Shield!
