Five minutes in to the game and I found the D-pad is an absolute nightmare. It is so bad I cannot help but to wonder why it has not been updated. Please, PLEASE make an option to have the D-pad stay in one fixed place with an action button! (Trying to talk to a moving npc is nearly impossible)... Also the game requires internet access to play... Like wtf? Would like to be able to play this on road trips. Fix these issues (which you wont) and I will rate 5 stars.
Awesome. Always wanted to experience this game and now I finally get to on a touchscreen!!! The cloud save is an awesome feature! I can play seamlessly with more than one device. The game has awesome music. Only problem w the game is that I wish thr graphics were morr consistant. Either redo all the graphics one way, or leave it.
Difficult controls, always-on connection required The controls are quite difficult to use. They've combined the d-pad and action button into this strange joystick-button combo that is messy to use. Just try talking to an NPC, you'll run around them more often than activating a dialogue. Sad. The navigation bar also won't go away even though the game runs full-screen, and this always-on connection requirement means you can't play the game on the subway or plane.
Nostalgically Wonderful It was an amazing game 20 years ago and now, with updated graphics and tweaks, it's even better and portable. The music is brilliant and takes me back in time. To the people complaining about the blue bars on either side of the screen: If they took the bars off, the game (especially the characters) will noticeably stretch sideways, distorting the textures. It will look bad, trust me. Anyways, great game. It's one of those "You can't call yourself a true RPG/gamer unless you've played it."
Bad dpad Directional input adds so much frustration that it makes the game almost unenjoyable. Its constantly moving with my thumb, and you cannot set it to a fixed position like you can with ff dimensions. Also, on startup, it usually tells me an error has occured and closes before I even get to the title screen. If not for that constant frustration, id give it 5 stars.
Not as good as the others I've played all the previous ones, and this one was definitely the least satisfying. For one, it was too easy. I also thought the graphics and game play were worse for a more recent iteration. With that being said, still kept me entertained for hours.
The following bugs have been fixed.
■Problems with the "Album" feature in the menu have been fixed.
■The game no longer crashes when players with no save data stored in their Cloud accounts attempt to access the Cloud.
