• Credit card payments: Accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and rewards cards — all credit cards at the same rate. Take credit card payments over the phone using your computer as a virtual point of sale terminal.
• Contactless payments: Let customers pay with Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Cash App Pay. Accept contactless cards and digital wallets with Tap to Pay.
• Gift cards: Differentiate payment with gift cards integrated into your POS system and Square Dashboard.
• Invoices: Send custom invoices straight from your POS on a mobile device or from your laptop right to your customers’ inboxes with the Square Point of Sale app.
• Transfers: Access funds after a sale with Square Checking, transfer funds to your external bank account instantly for a fee, or get transfers free in one to two business days.
• Refunds: Process refunds for payments directly from your POS system or your online Square Dashboard.
2.6% +10¢ PER TAP, DIP, SCAN, OR SWIPE. Charge $100 in a single transaction and see $97.30 in your bank account. Accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express, all credit cards at the same rate. Invoices are free to send and cost 2.9% + 30¢ per invoice paid online.

Customize your checkout with item categories, modifiers, add-ons, or special requests to keep your line moving and your customers happy.

• Use Register or wirelessly connect Terminal to any device running your Square POS. With a separate checkout screen, customers can see their itemized cart and pay quickly, all from a safe distance.

• Refund specific items from a transaction. The amount being refunded will reflect any applicable taxes and discounts for the selected item(s).

• Accept swiped card payments when your internet service is temporarily unavailable. Offline payments are processed automatically when your device regains connectivity and will expire if not processed within 72 hours.
• Take contactless payments via Tap to Pay.
• Provide customers with digital or printed receipts.
• Let your customers split a bill or use multiple forms of tender to complete payment.

Great for small, slow businesses. It covered our point of sale needs for the first few years of our business. Now that our volume of has increased, the app struggles to keep up during the rushes. We waste precious minutes waiting for cards to process, menus to load and even cash payments to go through. There's a lot of potential, but it's less and less worth the frustration.

The app is missing one important time saver. Please add an exact amount button when tendering cash. This would save lots of time, especially when you're busy. 7/30/23: Response to Square. Quick Amounts is what you put for the product/service cost, not the amount given to you by a customer. You force me to enter 20.00 when taking a cash transaction rather than having quick buttons on the screen for "exact amount", $5, $10, $20, $50, etc., which are the standard US currency bills.

I was on Etsy for only a week when I got my first purchase. I was so happy and excited, and then put of nowhere they banned my account for no reason whatsoever. I was crushed. Not only was it difficult and time consuming to set up my store, but I had to constantly change my listings because they kept showing errors. So I set up a square account after a friend told me about it. It was easy and there was a setup guide that took me through the entire process. I am extremely satisfied with square!!
