Stack Overflow is the can’t-code-without-it site where professional and enthusiast programmers ask their toughest questions and get answers from their peers. Learn, share and level up — on the go — with the Stack Overflow official app.
- Read, ask, answer, comment, flag and vote on questions.
- Get a push notification when someone answers or comments on your question. Anything that would trigger a Stack Overflow inbox message will trigger an app notification. As always, you can easily turn notifications on and off via settings.
- Search and filter by active, newest, votes and more.
- Draft questions on the go, even when you’re offline. Markdown tools make it easy to add images and code blocks.
- Get back to good questions with a browsing-history view that lists questions you’ve recently looked at.

Thank you for the standalone app, it looks great! Few things that I picked up from the get go. The questions filter doesn't remember its state when you refresh the questions, the refresh of questions happens way too easily on my GS8+ and when you scroll to the top there's some stickyness to the search bar so it wont show until you explicitly scroll to it. Don't know if this is a feature (it only shows a portion of the search bar and filter). It would also be nice to have the custom filter tabs available like on the website, I don't want to search each time I open the app. Keep the updates coming!

Love this app. Much better interface than the SE app. However I find that the app doesn't let me suggest edits. It says I don't have permission to edit the post. But the regular SE app lets me suggest edits. Another thing I would love would be a button to open a specific question in the browser or in the SE app :) Keep the updates coming. Gr8 job! Oh, 1 more thing. Night mode, plzzZZ ;)

I couldn't find a "Feedback" button in the app to report a bug/submit feedback so either it's hidden somewhere too deep or not there in a first place (and adding it would be a good feature). Also, after searching for the question using search field and selecting one from the list displayed - the keyboard remains on. In effect it's there when the selected question loads, making it necessary to press "back" button to hide it. I believe keyboard should hide automatically after selecting given question from the list. (Android 4.4.2, LG G FLEX, app version 1.0.1)

Very nice!! However, I feel, unfortunately, the developer forgot to search on Stack Overflow how to make a status bar that is complaint with Android's guidelines and material design. Except for this, the app is way better than before.

The app is great. I came across a bug though. When you reload your achievements, the application freezes and closes.

Just wondering why the app of a giant community like stack exchange has very few downloads. It should be atleast a million.

The question sort order remembering your preference should be fixed in the newest update :) I couldn't find a "Feedback" button in the app to report a bug/submit feedback so either it's hidden somewhere too deep or not there in a first place (and adding it would be a good feature). Clean UI. Good to start with. Things that needs to be implemented - Auto complete Search, Tag based filters, Option to save personalised filters.
I am getting 503 service not available and timeout error.. I see that the text editor is same as that of stack exchange app. Can we have the ability to run code snippets and add code snippets instead of just lines of code?
Do remove limit on questions to be asked frequently .If one has a question then he will ask the community
Clean and simple UI, just needs the tags feature added :-)
Not able to signing using Facebook. There is no option to signing using fb. Huh..
Needs tag filtering. Without it, it's just a endless stream of questions most of which are useless
Works perfectly fine. No issues whatsoever, but using a browser app (in my case, Chrome) seems easier. Voting and flagging is a easier in the app though. Inbox and Achievements doesn't show when there are updates. Scenario I experienced was there is a recent response and a reputation change on my end, but there wasn't any indication on the app (was expecting some sort of badge like what is shown in the web version). Though I'm not sure if this is the intended behavior. Suggestions: (1) Keep the last "Search" query and options (Active, Relevant, Latest). (2) Would be easier if we could select our preferred tags when searching for questions instead of typing the [<tag>] manually. (3) (More of a request than a suggestion) Night-mode :) Overall, app is okay. Actually good for an "asker"'s perspective. For someone who occasionally answers, I would still prefer using a browser.

Suggestion 1 should be fixed in version 1.0.1. I really like the second suggestion, we've been thinking about better "add tag to search" functionality but doing autocomplete when mid-writing a [favorite-tag] is a really cool quick idea. Thinking about night mode too, it's a big overhaul to get it to work. Probably one of the highly beautiful apps out there. Functionality is perfect. One small suggestion. Blend the notification bar with the rest of the app (color-wise)
Had some troubles with creating account on mobile. It kept giving errors. Was not possible to sign up using Google in the app. Had to create account using browser. Nevertheless, finally got it working. Also noticed, sliding the code snippet box left and right is very janky. Night mode pleaaaaseeeeeeee It's too bright and hurts my eyes at night.
Thanks for making a standalone app for SO. It was not convenient in SE app to follow topics. This works great! I am giving it 3 stars because of absence of dark mode. #WhiteUIMustDie
It's so nice to have an official app to access this valuable resource on the go.
Great start. Now I can lookup obscure browser hacks on the go!
Excellent interface, and very fast. Thanks for making this app. A dark theme would be nice to have.
