Heavy Battery Usage Battery dropped 70% over half a day. Android reports that 20% of the power used was by Open Signal. And I didn't even launch the app! UNINSTALLING. But will reinstall when required (assuming I can get a signal at that time!) Or may look for a way to have app installed, but disabled from launching itself without my say so. Very useful app when needed. Attractive design too.
Network pro Wow!! A program that does what it says plus more. So far no tricks. No ad ware. This app is a useful tool in many ways both to pros and average end users. Can't believe I am saying this but this app is worthy of donations. Come to think of it I don't recall even being asked for one. I do suggest adding " learn more" options to help and educate novice users. Do that and this app is perfect. Sharing test data (not required) is requested to assist in the apps further development. Cool app
Handy little app I had this app installed years ago. It actually helped me with an argument with my provider at the time. In one of the updates though y'all got rid of the tower map. That to me is the feature that makes this what it is. Not only are you getting speeds, and direction in general, but you know exactly what tower your on. But y'all seem to be missing one that's really close to me and used to show up in the past. The point, good app, worth having.
this tool.. this tool gave me the ability to talk smack to my service provider.. before, I had no way of knowing any of the information provided in this app and basically just had to go on the word from my service provider.. now I know everything and the exact reason why my service is slow.. and believe me it is getting fixed! thanks you guys! this is a great app!!
Latest update is improvement but has still not solved the problem of there being no line showing which cell tower my phone is connected to. My position and local towers are however shown. A pity this missing line problem still has not been fixed.
I've noticed that some parts of the app's text now overflow so have... For example data connectivity has "HS..." as my network name is quite long. I've also noticed the menu icon in the top right also differs from the screenshots, and does not conform to Material Design. Also, cell towers are also extremely inaccurate, whilst the direction is often right, distance is way off. I think you need to completely overhaul that particular part of the app as other apps have it much better.
