The Sparkasse app is there for you. No matter whether you pay a bill at the breakfast table using a photo transfer, set up a standing order on the train or check your account balance and credit card transactions. There is no need to fill out a transfer form. You can do everything with your smartphone or tablet.

ACCOUNT CLOCK
The account alarm clock informs you about account movements around the clock. If you want to know what's in your account every day, set up the account balance alarm clock. The salary alarm clock tells you when wages are received and the limit alarm clock lets you know when an account balance is exceeded or fallen short of.

PHONE TO PHONE
Splitting a bill after a cozy evening with friends at the restaurant is easy. With giropay | Kwitt or wero send money from cell phone to cell phone. This also works for borrowing an amount or collecting money together for a gift.

STRONG PROTECTION
Don't worry about mobile banking if you use a high-quality, up-to-date banking app combined with an up-to-date operating system and a secure internet connection. The Sparkasse app communicates via tested interfaces and ensures protected data transfer in accordance with German online banking requirements. All data is stored encrypted. Access is protected by a password and optionally by biometrics. The Autolock function locks the app automatically. All finances are protected to the maximum in the event of loss.

PRACTICAL FUNCTIONS
Use the search function across accounts and bank details, set up a budget book (offline account) for budget planning and view graphical evaluations. You have a direct line to the savings bank via the app and access to services such as card blocking, messages, notepads, appointments and even opening an account via the app. On top of that, you can switch directly to the S-Invest app and carry out securities transactions.

MOBILE PAYMENT
From the Sparkasse app, switch to the Mobile Payment app via the “Profile” view and you can start paying with your digital card at the checkout.

REQUIREMENTS
You need an account at a German savings bank or bank that has been activated for online banking. The TAN procedures required for payment transactions are chipTAN or pushTAN.

NOTES
You can send support requests directly from the app. Please note that individual functions incur costs for your institute, which may be passed on to you. The in-app account opening for new customers, giropay | Kwitt and wero are available if these functions are supported by your savings bank/bank.

The main problem with the app is that it makes me enter my password from time to time, even though I have set it up to use biometric. I'll use it for 4 months with biometric, then all of a sudden I'll have to enter the password... I don't remember my password (I know, my own fault), so I'll try what I think it is, and end up locking myself out. Why can't it just stay configured using biometric? (I think before the update, I never had this problem)

I think the Germans over complicate things in general. This app is no different. I have experienced much easier ways to online bank back in the States. The German banking system takes too long to transfer funds, there's no way to link accounts from this side, I had to go to my stateside bank to initiate that, but overall, I am not unhappy with it. I just think the Germans should take a look at the way we do it in the states. They tend to hold on to the old ways too long.

It used to be 5 star app, which could be used smoothly to cover most of my banking needs till about last year. Now it has become a 0 star app. They have completely forgotten the account addition/deletion interface. Now all I can do with this app is just add/view a single account and not delete it if needed! Moreover it annoyingly keeps prompting for PIN with every tap! Such great progress!! Why?
