Welcome to Drive Safe & Save, a safety app that can help you save on your State Farm® auto insurance and improve your driving habits.

You’ll get a 10% discount for signing up and completing the setup steps! After the initial participation period, how you drive will determine how much you save—up to 30%.*

The Drive Safe & Save app automatically records your trips and helps you understand your driving habits—what you’re doing well and what could be improved.**

Along your recent trip routes, the app shows you opportunities for safer driving by flagging these events: acceleration, braking, cornering, phone distraction and speed. (Events are opportunities to improve your driving.)

Check the app often to see:

• Your safety scores
• How much you’re saving per enrolled vehicle
• Number of recent trips that included driving events
• Your trip routes from the last 30 days
• Number of recorded trips from the last 14 days
• Opportunities to improve your driving habits
• Number of recorded miles from the last 14 days
• Safe driving tips
• Any vehicles on your policy that are eligible or enrolled in Drive Safe & Save Connected Car

*10% initial discount will apply upon enrollment. Setup is required to keep that discount. After your introductory period, discount for participating customers will vary from 1-50%. Availability and discounts may vary state-to-state (NY capped at 30%). A discount may not be available in NC depending on individual facts and circumstances. Not available in CA, MA, RI.

**After you enroll, we’ll mail you a beacon to place in your vehicle as part of the required setup steps. The beacon works together with the Drive Safe & Save app to accurately record your trips.

Ratings and reviews

Great app. The Drive Safe and Save app is great. However, there is one feature that is missing, but should be an essential part of the app. There should be a "Track my vehicle" feature. So you can see in real time exactly where your vehicle is in the event of theft or if you loan your vehicle to family/friend and they aren't being responsive to text, or in an emergency. Note to the devs, keep up the great work.

The Drive Safe & Save will make you a better driver. But it still has a few kinks that should be addressed by State Farm to make it better. 1) I have been "dinged" multiple times for hard stops when a light changes from green to yellow. I choose to stop rather than run a yellow light, but I get penalized for being safe, even though I am not speeding; 2) the systems dings you for getting incoming, unsolicited calls like robocalls, and for using the GPS app while driving in unfamiliar territory.

I love the discounts. What I don't like is that since the September update, it runs constantly in my background, draining my battery! It used to only run when I turned on my Bluetooth. But now, ALL the time. I have to charge my phone multiple times a day while I'm at work because it runs constantly. I close it out of the background, and within a few minutes it opens again.

To continue using Drive Safe & Save, make sure you are using at least Android OS9 or above. Drive Safe & Save will no longer work on Android OS 8.
