Review from Walter Zimmerman
Stellar in its simplicity and functionality If you have a pen/stylus tablet (such as the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet ver. 1) this is a must-have app. The interface is simple. The functionality -- including integration with Dropbox for backup as a premium feature -- is outstanding. Papyrus has become the most-used app on my tablet.
It's a pretty good app, especially if you lack an external keyboard. However, I wish they implemented the keyboard better. I would love to use arrow keys to switch between slides and scroll on my trackpad to pan around pages. I also commonly get errors when opening a pdf from an external source (like my files app). Overall though it's quite useful! I would rate 5 stars if the above features were added.
The update was really nice, I do appreciate the material design. I love that it works with my S-pen. I would love for you guys to add a tagging system, some things just don't belong to only one notebook and that would be so helpful! I love the ability to export my notes and download pdfs, it comes in handy much more than I thought it would. I'm subscribed to premium after already buying everything else. I just want more pens guys. A fountain and Calligraphy pen would be nice!
I honestly love this app for almost every thing that it is. I only wish a couple things were different.I wish there was the ability to search for words or phrases in my notes and I also think that you should put the "View- Only" option along the tool bar for easier access. Other than that this is perfect!
Good app that could be a lot better with a couple more features. Namely: rotating selected object(s), directly accessible drawing tools, grouping of objects (or layers). It would also be nice to be able to draw a circle with constraints (so that it is 100% circular) and from centre. I use Squid for technical DIY concept drawings and features I mention would make the app a lot better for this purpose. Selection is also imprecise at times - it's really hard to select a line even when you zoom in very close - several taps are necessary. Oh and automatic synchronization/backup across multiple devices is badly needed.
As this is a subscription service you would expect significant upgrades each year to compensate for the premium price being charged. On some things, as pointed out by many people, there is real room for improvement. A good app with potential.
I paid for the app already, and more than many other apps cost, and now I am supposed to pony up $3 more just to be able to save my notes to the cloud? And a subscription fee? I used to use Evernote and see where this is going. No thanks.
