Radio station ‘nano’ is located in VILNIUS Lithuania. Here students get a chance to gain rudimental knowledge of journalism. Radio station has been open for three years now. Students have an opportunity to develop writing skills while preparing for their own shows, to talk while ‘on air’ shows, and to do montage work with professional equipment for their own records made in the studio. Students also get responsibility to generate ideas for promotional slogans, organize efficient operation of radio station, maintain equipment, and ensure continuous radio broadcasting. Young people that come to radio station ‘nano’ gain other skills that are essential for journalists as well. For instance, students learn how to react fast and effectively to unexpected situations; they practice social, communication and psychological skills, and develop their natural curiosity for current issues on news. In theory application activities students develop official Lithuanian language skills, sense of responsibility, strong personality, and communication.
