It's not very well organized for starting to listen to a podcast that already exists which you want to begin at first episode. Also, the app regularly stops playing once my phone screen locks. I imagine this is somehow related to the power settings of my phone but stitcher is the only app that does this for me. Used stitcher for awhile but fed up now with it constantly stopping so I'm uninstalling
It's almost a good app. It does a good job of having shows up to date but it's lacking very basic functions like playing shows in chronological order or downloading multiple episodes at once. It's fine if you want to choose and find one episode at a time but if you want to play multiple then you must painstakingly download individual episodes and put them in the correct sequence.
Switched to stitcher to get the Howl stuff bc the Howl app was terrible. Came from the Pocket Casts app. Love the additional content and the integration with my car. Hate pretty much everything else. I don't understand why I can only download new episode or only download old episodes to my listen later playlist. Pocket casts just let me build playlists of any epsodes I wanted of any of the podcasts I subscribed to. It's incredibly frustrating and has me considering canceling my subscription
Stitcher is not working YET again. Nothing plays. Always displaying "there seems to be an error playing content". Stopped in the middle of one podcast; now plays none of them. No problems listening to the same podcasts on their own websites. Tried rebooting the phone. Stitcher knows exactly why it's not working. The generic, totally information free error message (Yes. It's obvious there's a problem.) is very annoying. This is simply lazy, bad programming. The app should say exact why it is failing and indicate what is being done about it.
Great content, but one of the worst apps on the market. On the rare occasion it works, it's great. Unfortunately after every update it becomes unusable. It no longer downloads. Do yourself a favor and do not ever start using this app, it'll bring you nothing but frustration. If everything it's supposed to do worked it would be one of the best apps out there, but unfortunately it's practically garbage.
After having used the iOS version for the past while I find this Android one underwhelming and lacking - it does the job but it's very basic. I'd like to see the Listening Stats and Recommendations brought over in future updates.
Stitcher now downloads new episodes in your playlists and Listen Later by default, enabling a more consistent playback experience and easier listening when you don’t have an Internet connection. If you do not want to auto-download, simply go to Download Settings to turn this off or manage how much storage you allow Stitcher to use.
We’re hard at work on some big updates to Stitcher, stay tuned!
