Review from Anthony Fincher
Mostly ok... Mostly adequate. Fails to respond to headset start/stop commands on Galaxy S3. Uninstalled.
I've been hanging on to Stitcher because it was my first and I knew what I was doing, habits. Well throw that out the window. No way to "mark all heard/unheard"; individual show episodes play newest to oldest; why have a "play next" option if there's no way to look at your queue? I've been using Pocket Cast for shows that aren't on Stitcher. Looks like it's time to head over there permanently.
With the update there is now a limit on "Saved Episodes" that I didn't ever notice with the listen later setting. I wish that it showed the number of episodes I have listened to like the Apple App does. Other than that it's an amazing app and I use it every single day to get my True Crime fix!
Just finished my year subscription to Stitcher Premium and I feel cheated. I got the subscription because of all the comedy albums that were available. I binged on them for the first 2 months until I listened to everyone I wanted to. Over the year I saw maybe 10-20 new albums added. I went throught them on the last day of my subscription and found 1 new one to listen to. The next day, after my year was up, the comedy album list more than doubled! So basically, Stitcher will block new content from you, until your subscription runs out. Then they can get you to renew to get the "new content". Don't waste your money!
I was forced to come over from the complete disaster that was howl fm. I paid for a year subscription over there, and instead of giving my money back they sent me here. While it is better than howl, there are still many issues. It is clunky, there are way too many ads for premium content, it is disorganized and takes too many clips to get to the show you want. Names are all screwed up. Worst podcast app since howl.
Good job on the update but still a lot to be done. My biggest complaint is you don't list the comedians names on episodes of Comedy Bang Bang. For a show with 500+ episodes and with a horrible search engine it makes it impossible to find specific episodes. Spotify and every other podcast app lists each episodes cast, there's no reason you can't.
Latest update completely broke the most important feature: remembering where you left off in a podcast. Before, I could leave a podcast for hours or days and days, restart my phone in between, and Stitcher would let me pick up right where I left off. Now? Starts right at the beginning again. 1/5 until this gets fixed.
