I have tried many athletic tracking apps and Strava has become my goto app. Strava provides great insight into your training progress, and it allows you to synchronize your data with almost any other app. It is great for sharing data with coaches, teammates and friends. Be aware that there is what I like to call the "creep factor." Make sure that you check your privacy settings. If you do a lot of activities near your home, you can set Strava to block the radius of a specific address. You can also make your activity private if you don't want strangers to see your activity. However, if you set Strava to "private" you may not be able to share your data with other applications. Bottom line, I use Strava every day and I love it!
Pretty excellent app, just want the few missing features from the web site (gear additions, etc.). It'd also be cool if you got voice guidance when running routes. Sometimes I make routes when traveling and don't know the areas well.
Love strava as it's a fantastic motivational tool as well as data aggregator for the qual nerd in me. One request/tweak would make the swim workout view (while on mobile app) show more details (ie my splits) as it currently only shows total time.
Unlike Map My Run, Strava gives total altitude climbed during a run, which is great. But this advantage is diminished by its GPS being all the over the place, at least in the southern hemisphere. Here in Wellington, I apparently leave the footpath every few metres to zigzag through people's gardens. And my friend who runs in Sydney reported that Strava said she ran underwater in the harbour when she ran under a bridge near the harbour. This is frustrating because it obviously affects distances & times.
Was doing so great. But the last few days the GPS hasn't been working properly, this is throwing my pace way off. If this can be sorted then it will go back to being a 5 star app. Samsung S7
The de facto tracker for good reason, but misses a few features that they are slow to roll out (e.g. draw out a route and then manually attach a time to it for when you don't have a GPS tracker on you). Found it easy to follow others and the community aspect is pretty good.
- Add Routes to Manual Activities: On the go without GPS? You can now associate a route with a manually added activity.
