Can't lock/unlock from my smartphone 2017 Outback. Used to be able other lock, unlock, sound alarm, and locate car via Starlink. They "updated" Starlink and all that is gone. Mirrorlink doesn't work. No help whatsoever from Subaru. My first and last Subaru. No one I come in contact with will buy one either if I have anything to say about it. Also, apps won't connect like Google Calendar.
This is an update? Its no better than before. Starlink looks like it was designed by amateurs in their garage. And my Garmin GPS unit, stuck to the windshield, puts the overpriced Subaru GPS system to shame. And don't bother buying map updates. They're no better than the older maps and POIs are still years out of date. That's inexcusable.
Spent hours trying to make it work It took 5 hours to get iheart radio to accept my log in and work correctly. The calendar feature wont link to non-google calendars. The news feature only works intermittantly and is unsafe to use. The weather feature is cumbersome and not friendly to small towns. I have started to really appreciate my Toyota application on my other vehicle. Either everything here is too complex or it doesn't work - both reflect poorly on Subaru
Spinning wheel goes round and round, but doesn't start the app. Too many bad reviews of people spending way too much time to make this work for me. Subaru, let me know when you get this right.
Just bought a new brz. It's sad that Bluetooth is a better option to use for all any sort of operation (when it even works) This feels like 2006 tech
I guess I have to use it It's a necessary evil. Hope the update makes it better. I have to do more clicking on my phone and the dashboard to make it work. Such a distraction.
