Got this app as a last-ditch effort to get Google maps to show on the screen on my 2017 outback. It did not work, and Subaru will no longer even support the app after March 2023. The car is only 5 years old and the infotainment system is already useless other than the Bluetooth connection because Subaru refuses to provide support or updates for their own products. Shameful.

This app is worthless. Does almost nothing. It does have a "news" feature, which I thought I might use, but when I opened it I discovered that it does not play news audio - you actually have to READ the news on the screen! Not my style of driving. Even if the app had any value, it is certainly not intuitive and very difficult to use, thus not worth the trouble. I find nothing on the app that I'm not already to get elsewhere (maps, music, weather, news). Useless.

This app is worthless. I was expecting more from Subaru. I'm using this in my 2019 Crosstrek, since I bought the latest model of Subaru, I expected a bit more. It also always displays a notification that says "Subaru Starlink is running, but doesn't give me the option to stop the app. I have to go to settings, apps and stop the app, so it doesn't suck my battery when I'm not using the car. Also the Magellen map app is just a total piece of junk. It takes forever to start up and it does not seem to be very accurate. I've used it a couple of times and I just wind up turning it off and using the navigation on my phone, both Google Maps on my Pixel 3 and Apple Maps on the iphone are years ahead of the dated and barely functional Magellin app. If I had really played around with the Starlink app before I bought the car, I probably would have chosen a different brand of car.
