While full of amazing content, the app is ephemeral when one switches away to another app. Substack disappears from the app switcher, even losing one's place in the current article. If you don't immediately like an article there is no history to help you find the same article, leaving you lost from something you might want to continue reading. It's almost better to open an article in a browser tab to make sure the article doesn't get lost forever.

There's a really annoying bug where if the app isn't already 'open' in the "recent apps" list and you open it from a notification and then switch to another app, Substack will not appear in the recent apps screen. This is very counterproductive to multitasking and using the app in general. When this happens, I have to reopen the app fresh and then search for the post I was viewing. Can you fix this please?

This app treats you like an absolute joke. Looking forward to their downfall and obsolescence. I downloaded the app a month ago but haven't been able to use it till now. I messaged support about getting the "Error verifying phone number" on a phone number ive been successfully using for 15+ years. No reply even though its been one month later. Chatbot takes you around and around in circles, gives fake promises of passing your issue to a team, but no actual resolution.
