Trust DNS is a free tool
that helps you bypass censorship, access blocked websites, & browse privately
. Free your internet, for free! We have a strict no-logs policy
& zero ads in the app.
💡Is Trust DNS a proxy?
Nope! It’s neither a VPN nor a proxy. Trust DNS is a simple, secure, & fast DNS resolver that uses a VPN tunnel to change your DNS.
💡What can I do with free DNS?
➤ Unlock access to restricted sites & services.
➤ Unblock Wikipedia, YouTube, Telegram, & more!
➤ Access the internet privately.
➤ Bypass censorship & protect your freedom of speech.
💡What do I get with free Trust DNS version?
➤ Access to blocked generic content - torrents, music, movies, video streaming, & gaming servers.
➤ Awesome speed because of anycast network that has a low delay of request & decreases latency. Basically, it’s fast!
➤ Compatibility with all kinds of devices - smartphones, tablets, Chromebook, & TVs.
➤ No worries, whatever your connection is - it works on Wi-Fi, cellular internet, & ethernet.
➤ No EDNS for more privacy. In English, that means we don’t send your information carelessly. In geek, that means we don’t send your IP through the internet to get the requested website.
➤ Secure DNS over HTTPS (DoH) protocol as a default.
➤ A second protocol option - DNS over TLS (DoT).
💡Hold up. What is DNS in the first place?
DNS is the mediator between you & your computer! It’s the helpful service that translates website names to IP addresses, & the other way around. That’s why instead of having to remember 188.8.131.52, you can simply type in www.google.com. Neat, huh?
💡Why do I need a different DNS?
Your ISP can collect your browsing information & use it to make big bucks. Governments can block websites as they please. On top of that, people (not even real hackers) can get a special adapter online, scan your WiFi, & exploit you. To protect your privacy, you need to change your DNS.
💡Is DNS better than VPN or a proxy?
Honestly, it depends on what you’re going to do online. DNS is better when you need lightning speeds & it’s great for gaming, browsing, video streaming, or accessing what we call generic content: Wikipedia, YouTube, Facebook, or Telegram.
💡Should I use DNS over HTTPS or DNS over TLS?
We recommend to use DNS over HTTPS as the primary protocol. Here’s why: DNS requests are sent over HTTPS & cannot be distinguished from normal HTTPS traffic.
If the DNS over TLS protocol is used, usually DNS requests are sent in TLS packets through a dedicated port. The Connection Operators cannot see what is inside the packets, but they can see that DNS requests are sent in the TLS format. For example, they see port 853 & can even block it.
When you use DNS over HTTPS, this is not visible as HTTPS is a common Internet protocol for web browsing.
However, both protocols are secure & built with your privacy in mind.
💡Can I trust a 100% free app? How do you make money?
Trust DNS is actually created by Surfshark - a privacy & security company that offers several paid products, such as Surfshark VPN, BlindSearch, & HackLock. That is how we make money & that’s why we can make a truly free product that will protect your privacy.
This project, a free Trust DNS is our tribute to the public as a basic layer of security.
💡Why does Trust DNS ask to make a VPN connection?
Trust DNS is a DNS resolver, & in order to change your DNS address, we need to initiate a VPN tunnel. What we do is create an open VPN tunnel by adding a VPN profile - but at the end of the day, that’s just a small bit of what a VPN is.More information:
