Pick of the bunch, but NO SUPPORT I've tried them all, Ivona is good, maybe better so giving this 4 1/2 stars, but Ivona less "flexible" in terms of responding to "difficult" material due to the huge size of the files, so Vcky, overall, gives the most comprehensible, pleasant sounding voice there is for the tasks I do, BUT there's no support after sales for one of the key features -- how to modify pronunciations for particular "words" -- key to my technical reading of acronyms -- like SSRIs -- combination of acronym and plural -- so have to downgrade rating recently.
Doesn't work with Google maps app... I have tried for months to get Victoria voice back... Ever since last Google Maps update it doest work... If I delete the last Maps update, maps doesn't work. You need to make this compatible with maps.
Pure Englishness Used to use this on my Motorola Defy for navigation and sports training apps, and now have installed it on my new Motorola RAZR i. Sounds amazing in Google maps navigation and fades in beautifully for giving directions over the top of music being played from the phone over the car stereo.
Fabulous way to practice your foreign languages The extraordinary life-like voices you can acquire make SVOX a standout choice for honing your linguistic skills in everyday situations, or gerating a sexy voice for your android assistant. Top App!
Nice app Good choice of voices, fixes the robotic voice from standard default, not quite as realistic as ivona voice, but pretty good.
Stopped Working About an hour in this stopped working. I was using the English voice Victoria. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no good. Refund period seemed to over. This was on the new Google Nexus 7.
- Resolved issue with the status bar notification that was always telling users to reinstall the application.
