How Do I? teaches life and vocational skills through step-by-step videos linked to the learning environment using NFC technology. We teach life and vocational skills in an innovative way, supporting people with learning difficulties, disabilities, dementia or acquired brain injury to live more independently. How Do I? requires our accompanying NFC tags; please visit nfchelpsme.com to purchase the tags to launch the learning videos.
Our videos are presented though a well-designed and easy to use app activated by NFC tags. Tags are placed strategically around a living space. For example, “How to make a cup of tea” would be placed on the kettle, and “How to make toast” would be stuck on the toaster. From there, it’s as easy as touching an NFC-enabled device to the brightly coloured How Do I? tag, launching a video packed with user-friendly features to help people with additional needs follow along the steps to successfully complete each task.
For those with additional needs like learning disabilities, autism, or dementia, completing these daily tasks while enjoying a higher level of independence supports self esteem, and can provide a higher quality of life. For families and carers, it means taking a step back while supporting the person they care for to take their own steps towards independence.
We are the only provider of NFC-enabled lifeskill learning videos. We have built in a number of features to support our users, including auto-pauses to keep each step manageable.
We are majority owned by Swiss Cottage School Charity, which means that supporting How Do I? means supporting an organisation with a proven track records of improving SEN education in the UK and internationally.
