I had the older version not this upgraded super doopah 7 day trial where we get voice directions..are you serious? No voice ? Google maps here I come ,do not bother downloading maps & then be told 7 day premium usage ,with voice !!!--- " You can test drive all features available in the most popular Premium + Traffic license for the first 7 days after installation. After 7 days you can continue using the basic features or upgrade to the Lifetime Premium license."
It is great even in remote areas but with new interface it is not helping like before. Recently on my visit to Tabuk from Riyadh, Google maps provided much shorter routes than sygic. Sygic maps are not properly updated. Also 3d maps do not show any surrounding even in Riyadh capital of Saudi Arabia. Now it is nearly one year and whenever I am traveling to Tabuk, still have to use Google.
The GPS application runs smoothly and does seem to pick a great route when using navigation. The maps do have more detail than what other GPS applications use. Sygic uses a nice preview window to show what lane you should be in. Maps are more up to date for areas where construction is a issue. But Maps POI seem to be years out of date for some items. I ended up buying the license since overall this application was better then the other applications I have used.
There have been three or so updates for maps in New Zealand over the last 6 months. State highway 1 expressway bypassing Cambridge has been open for longer than that and still is not in the updated maps. Google maps is much more accurate. I used to love this, but am increasingly disappointed. Also it is buggy doesn't go to full screen the top is cut off by the android information bar. Still no update for a paid app is disappointing. Giving up on stoic Google maps is much better
It's not bad. I just don't like the way you have to enter the addresses in backwards.. ie: Country, State, City, Suburb etc. Seems really cumbersome, it shouldn't be too hard to work, needs to be easier like most other Gps software. 😕 Like with Google maps for example, you can enter the address as you read it & it starts to recognise where you are and pulls the address up as you type. Good effort, but coukd be a lot easier to use. Keep up the good work 👍
Sygic always have a good route calculation. Not any more. As a Garmin it started to prefer a shortest road even if it going through downtown with all traffic lights and jams. Also in the country as South Africa it can be dangerous. Just check the route from Rosebank to Simmonds 3, Johannesburg.
