Review from Fco.J. Fernandez
Da seguridad, estando conectado
I've used Norton for as long as I can remember. I've tried other anti-virus software. I like it because it's easy to navigate and when I have a problem I easily get help with it through norton support. I have not had any prpblems with the wifi privacy app on my samsung galaxy S7 but when I went to install it on my Dell laptop that runs windiws 10 and microsoft edge, I got an error message saying the app wasn't compatible with my laptop and the same went for my desktop. I am a wireless gal and have nothing plugged into my walls. I would love to understand why this is happening. Please explain.
App is tends to turn off when a switch between wifi and/or 4g happens. "Earth" connections which I believe is the most secure mode, make me want to check if the app has VPN on or not. But when this is done so, Earth mode gets switched to a local or other VPN server as the app chooses. As a user, do I check that the VPN for Norton Wifi Privacy is on? Or trust that the application is om despite already setting VPN to permanent "on" mode in my handphone settings. Am using a Samsung Galaxy 7edge. Hope the above info helps. Otherwise, compared to another VPN I've used, Norton Wifi Privacy protects and still allows access to other websites which might be blocked when using other VPNs.
Although I gave it 5 Stars I still uninstalled such because it only can be installed on 1 device and seeing that I know a fair amount about software and VPN I know it is not a good value. A majority of our time is spent on secure networks most of the day thus Norton mainframes have very little to actually do and most decent phones and tablets have VPN software installed under your settings menu. It just needs to be bumped up to at least 5 devices and then I might call it a good value.
VPN works great, auto connects flawlessly. Sometimes there are issues connecting to certain web sites or apps but for the most part has a stable connection compared to other VPN. Trusted name and recommended. I purchased the year subscription and haven't regretted it yet.
So far so very good. I'm using a paid for product (I usually rely on free software - but I won a years free subscription so what's to lose!) Anyway I think it is worth the money i.e. I think I'd buy it if I had to. Plus I'm the first reviewer on my new phone (£20 Prime PAYG). A full android 5.1 system, a bargain with a few cheap shortcomings i.e. no gyro's for auto-rotate.
I'm sitting in Waitrose, that hotbed of cyber hacking, trying to use their O2 public wi fi. Works a treat without Norton privacy. With it, it either won't connect at all (UK servers busy?) or prevents me visiting BBC, Guardian etc. This is an utterly useless, overpriced app and Norton should be ashamed.
