FlicInvaders is not only a fun, first person, action game but also a way to learn Flicboard gestures. Once learned, using the FlicBoard app, these gestures allow you to enter text at speeds comparable to touch typing. Also, since these simple taps and swipes can be done anywhere on the touchscreen, your eyes are free for other tasks like watching the person you're with or reading the text you are copying.
The game is modeled after the old "alien invaders" game. Saucers come down from the sky, each labeled with a letter. Performing the correct gesture for that letter, before the saucer reaches the ground, destroys the saucer with an explosion. As you play, the game provides hints at the top of the screen for the letters you are currently learning. As you destroy more saucers, the program adds new hints for the new characters you will be learning. If you forget a gesture the corresponding hint will re-appear.
Note that the FlicBoard is specifically geared towards the touchscreen (not an attempt to mimic a mechanical keyboard device). A FlicBoard gesture exists for every standard keyboard character eliminating the need to accurately touch tiny keys.
