Geofence is flat out broken! Never switches between home modes. Never disables when leaving. GPS, Wifi both do not work. The only time it works is manually switching. The person that manages the team for this should be fired as quality control sucks.
H264 playback still doesn't work. Support form times out. This app needs a lot of work.
Live stream no longer works, it has been broken for months, this app is useless and makes my Synology useless. The thumbnail view works, I see movement, but the full view shows only one second of video then it freezes. I recently recommend to someone needing a solution for 10+ cameras to choose another product as it is completely unstable and useless. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S7 and I applied all updates to both the station and the video application.
Now can't even live view. Says loading forever or just says "Can't play". Then even OK doesn't work and needs to be force closed. Absolute garbage. Synology... Don't release software if you're not going to do it properly. It will be destroy your reputation. Waivering over my next Synology purchase now. Managed to view a live camera, but it just crashes if I try to view a recording. That's the more important feature as far as I'm concerned so this is useless. I still don't understand how Synology thinks it's ok to release software in this state.
Slow. Unreliable. Crashes at the drop of a hat. Would not recommend Synology NAS for surveillance use. To Synology.... ...please bring back the option to use an external player for recordings. I was previously able to use VLC which supports 4x playback speed which is great for reviewing alerts. The new integrated player has very limited functionality. ...please allow switching to the high quality stream from within the player.
Love the app but have one feature request. I run the app on a old mobile constantly so we are able to see who's at the door etc however I also have a web browser running under android split screen. Currently when you enable split screen while DS Cam is running there is a popup saying "app may not support it". DS Cam continues to run and looks like it works however after some time the cameras in multi view stop updating and to get a live image you need to go back to the main screen then restart multiview. Not sure if I am the only person who uses the app like this but would be great if this was fixed!
