I've tried to use this app twice and both times it caused my Droid Turbo (with lollipop) to freeze on the Emergency Call screen. I could power it on and off but could get nothing but that screen necessitating a factory reset both times! What a shame as I was looking forward to accessing my Synology NAS from the phone. EDIT: You might have seen the above blaming the DS File app for causing my Droid Turbo to freeze on the Emergency Call screen. I tried a third time to access my Synology NAS from my Turbo, but first I had to set up the VPN (under "MORE" in Settings) one more time. I had to set the phone down for a few minutes and when I came back and woke it up, The emergency call screen was back and no other screen would come up. I could power it down and back on, but that was it. So I did a FOURTH factory reset. This time I did not even let it install DS File when I was setting the phone back up. The first thing I did when the phone was ready to go was to go to Settings, More, and set up the VPN one more time. I let the phone go to sleep, woke it up and, sure enough THE PHONE WAS FROZEN ON THE EMERGENCY CALL screen. Phone not app. So NO OPINION at this time. 3 stars so I can post.
New feature has never worked I do love this app, but the ability to select specific files within the torrent file to downlad is just a gimic. No matter how many files I (de-)select, it will always download the entire contents - I may as well just use magnet links for ease of setting the task and be done with it. Having to log into NAS and manually remove all of the unwanted files is a mundane task, as UI is so slow on my phone's browser, and it is further frustrating because I have download caps on my broadband so this gets eaten into!
Doesn't work on https Recently it stopped working on HTTPS. Immediately after I press connect it says cannot connect. On my other phone it works. Same with ds photo.
ssl connection useless with self-signed certificate :(.should be possible to review and add such to trusted one.
Always works, very useful Synology gives frequent updates to all the DS apps. DS file is very useful and easy to use. The only problem is its download manager which you use to download the files from NAS to phone should have been more intelligent. Some times it shows task completed, but the files are not found in the phone.
The "download" option never works. The notification keeps showing "1 task processed" but the file is never there. If it can't handle files, what's the point?
