About this app

An unofficial helper app for the boardgames Frosthaven, Gloomhaven, Jaws of the Lion, Forgotten Circles, Crimson Scales and other campaigns in the Gloomiverse.
The aim is to be a good replacement for the Gloomhaven Helper by Esoteric Software that is no longer available.
The focus is on good user experience, and to be like a boardgame component rather than a typical material style app.
That means most of the functionality will be in one single screen, which makes it seem slightly busy at first glance, but is really necessary to minimize need for user input which is a key factor to good UX for a boardgame component.

Ratings and reviews

Generally very good app. We used to use the hit point stands, but that's so tedious compared to this. Once or twice the scenarios didn't seem to line up with the scenario book, but other than that it's lined up pretty well. On some phones and/or networks, the client/server seems to be a bit flaky, but we think that's not the apps fault. Having to have the app open to stay connected does eat up battery. Going to look up a rule in browser disconnects you, but it does reconnect quickly.

This is a great app that makes gameplay SO much better. The one thing I don't understand that I wish they would add is that during a scenario it does not allow you to add any coins you looted. I don't know why they would let you add xp through the app to your character but not loot. not a big deal and they do display the multiplier, but I recall the "OG" GH Helper app having that and it is the one thing I miss.

Why pay for something when this does everything? It has the feel of the old gloomhaven helper app and four of us have had zero issues connecting to one another and staying connected. Highly recommend this if you're starting up Frosthaven. That is why we grabbed it and we aren't looking back. Being able to sync and upkeep between four players is just so clutch.
