TED, nuff said! As a brand TED is great, however my only qualm with the app is you cannot sign-in to your account, which is annoying for talks and playlists you've favourited/created. If anyone is experiencing problems since upgrading to Lollipop, it's Lollipop that's causing issues!
Great contents, awful app This is the only example that I know about of an app that is worst than the online site. You need to make a log in option so people can get to their bookmarks and other personal contents on every device. I think this option is mandatory in 2015.
Major bug Touching and even swiping anywhere always toggles play/stop, which makes it impossible, for example, to open notifications by swiping down, since touching the status bar will always trigger either play or stop. Very annoying and it's probably caused by some sort of non-standard programmatical way of handling touch events. Can you fix this please?
TED +Chromecast = FINALLY! I have always loved TED talks! Now, being able to cast to my entertainment center and enjoy talks with friends and family is great! The app is easy to use and it's easy to find new talks, your favorite talks or talks about certain subjects. 5 stars
Still no account integration?! Title should say it all, but if you're still reading... it's beyond ridiculous that this is still not available in 2015. Your fans have been asking (begging) for this feature for years. I should be able to log in to my TED account on the app, and have access to all of my favorite ("bookmarked") talks. If I bookmark a talk in the app, it should show up in my online account... not just be tied to my local device. Way to create a separate/divergent experience across platforms , TED! :-|
Plagued by playback issues (Nexus 5 - Lollipop) While the content provides good watches, the implementation of this app is embarrassing considering the company that makes it. I expect TED to be as cutting edge and well executed in its app development, but unfortunately there is nothing streamlined about this. Videos often freeze for no reason and must be exited to play again. I'm sure TED has enough money and contacts to make their Android app a product they can be proud of.
