To make the simulation more realistic, you provide either an Australian bank account (BSB and account number) or a paypal account name.
How it works:
1. Install this app
2. Set your bank or paypal details.
3. Make an in-app purchase of say $AUD20.
4. Now your VIRTUAL bank account is credited with $AUD10, within one or two days.
Q) Why would I want to pay $20 to get $10?
A) The short answer: Telstra.
The longer answer: Telstra allows you to spend your prepaid credit in Google Play. You can end up with telstra credit you know you will never use, and will eventually be wasted. Using this app you can get half of your credit back as VIRTUAL money.
Q) OK, but how would I end up with 'useless' Telstra credit?
A) Two ways come to mind. First, you could purchase a Telstra starter pack for $10-$15, which gives you $30 credit. Once activated on (e.g.) the Encore plan, you will have $250 extra credit for calls and SMSs, plus 400Mb download. Plus the $30. If the $250 credit + 400Mb is enough to see you through the month, and there's nothing worth buying in Google Play, you can get up to $15 back as VIRTUAL currency. If this were real and not just virtual currency, it would mean you are actually getting the month's phone usage for free, assuming you picked up your starter pack for $15.
The second situation is because your telstra credit will be lost whenever your prepaid credit expiry date is reached. Many people pay $30 each month to keep their account active, but never actually use up the credit; the extra credit and SMSs are sufficient.
Q) Is it safe to provide my bank details?
A) It's pretty safe. To do more than deposit money into the account, you need more information than just that. This application needs your My3 username/password. You can register at https://my3account.three.ie (Note: don't access this URL when on 3's network, as it will simply bypass the registration screen and directly show you your account page as it validates you via your GSM session. Access it via Wi-Fi on your handset or use a PC/Laptop)
You need your SIM Serial to register with My3. If you need your Sim Serial (ICCID), hit refresh once, and the application will show it for you, if you have no login details entered. This is useful if you have Micro/Nano SIM and the ICCID is not visible!
This application will use an intermediate server to speed up usage retrieval by default. This is most noticeable when you are on a 2G connection, and to some extend a 3G connection. The intermediate server is hosted at secure.damienoreilly.org and traffic is encrypted over TLS. The intermediate server is not used when you are on Wi-Fi,
You can set whether you want to use the intermediate server or connect directly to https://my3account.three.ie from settings.

When you put the widget on the home screen, a configuration page will appear, you must enter your provider's USSD code. The USSD code for most of the companies is *100#, e.g. for Vodafone Callya is *106#.
Before installing the widget, it will ask you to authorize services that cost you money (directly call phone numbers) and phone calls (read phones state and identity). This is technically necessary, otherwise the app will not work.
The widget will not make phone calls that cost you money. The authorizations are the result of the Android system. It requires authorization for "services that cost you money" to send a USSD code and "phone call" to read phones state and identity.
USSD codes can cause damages. Please verify by the app configuration which USSD code will be used by MyPrepaidCredit to find out your left balance.
