About this game

Race for the Galaxy is a strategy boardgame where players advance their empire by playing cards to build technological developments or to settle planets. Its core mechanic is a phase choosing game. Players secretly and simultaneously determine which one of seven phases they will lock in, all reveal at once, then execute the phases in order. Will you build an engine to ramp up VP generation on cheapo production planets? Will you invest in exploration and settle rare and valuable VP rich planets? Or will you rush a military conquest to cut off your opponents before they have a chance to develop their strategy.

▪ Single player mode with advanced neural network AI
▪ Five starting worlds and ninety settlement and development cards
▪ Free promo pack included: New Worlds with six additional starting planets

So far it is a solid implementation, but it lacks some of the functionality of the desktop (Steam) version. Specifically, It does not highlight cards that require action from the player. For example, in the desktop version, when certain cards are eligible for being played, discarded, or various other actions, the desktop version will surround them with a glowing highlight. Without this, it is not always obvious which cards need action. This is confusing, especially for new players.

Edit: update fixed screen issues! I used to love the implementation of this game but the lack of updating for new phones makes it so that I can't start new online games of my own and I can't see everything on the cards when zooming in (I'm both cases, this is now cut off). The medium AI is also too easy while the hard one is too hard because it seems programmed to just give you worse cards. If this were updated to fix just even the screen cut off issue, I'd give it 5 stars.

The new build should address the screen layout issues some folks are having. If you're still seeing this after the update we'd appreciated a screenshot so we can see what's going on. You can email us at info@templegatesgates.com.

Race ftG is an awsome in-person tabletop card game, and this is a faithful and well-done digital implementation, with a decent AI for solo play with 3 levels of difficulty. Easier to learn than the tabletop version as there's no need to memorize all the iconography. Really appreciate that there's a plethora of data in gathered statistics from past games, done well. ALL digital games should have this.
