Stupid 'security verification', it requires an existing WeChat user to scan your code. I don't have any Chinese friends near me, so I can't set up an account. I wanted WeChat for local Chinese-owned businesses like restaurants... Even up until that point, it was slow and kept crashing at the first screen. Can't even open the app, it freezes up completely. Terrible app

This upgrade caused my Channel "Hot" button disappeared, and repeatedly erased all viewing history from ALL other remaining buttons. All my saved, reacted, and communication history are disappearing slowly after the upgrade and, by now, all gone. Very poor quality production released! Signed by a long time software development professional.

Can't activate my account because it has been "blocked due to security issues." Tried doing the 2 factor verification process, which failed, and then I tried to get a friend to verify. We followed all directions to a tee, and I still couldn't get unblocked. Oh, but I was able to set a password and give them access to my whole contacts list. You're welcome Chinese hackers. |-(
