Much easier than fumbling with Terminal Terminal Emulators are great in a pinch, but when I've got the option I much prefer to SSH into my phone and use a real keyboard. Even better is using SCP from my desktop to transfer stuff to/from the SD Card without needing to hook up a USB cable. Combine with ConnectBot for even more options, like reverse port forwarding to get to your phone while not on WiFi.
DOES NOT WORK Absolutely cannot get it to work on my Galaxy. Although the author claims to provide support, I emailed him twice and got zero response. TeslaCoil is a rank amateur outfit
seems to work fine installed quick and easy (no need to root the phone first), set up was also really easy, now able to access the sd card of my phone without plugging it into my computer
Does not work on 4.0+ without workaround. Won't work on 5 at all. Hasn't updated in 4 years. I was able to get it to work on Ice Cream Sandwich through KitKat by renaming the dropbear binary and replacing it with a script using the correct umask (requires root), but with Lollipop it now fails to launch with an error starting only position-independent executables are supported.
Broken Drop bear can't find its PID, broken in jelly bean. Dev won't email back. Thinking about requesting a refund since it is now useless to me and there is 0 support.
Great for transferring files Works flawlessly on my Asus Transformer Prime (free SSHDroid wouldn't run on my tablet). I was a bit puzzled at the opening configuration screen as nothing happened after I entered my chosen password until I pressed the button near the top right hand corner of the screen (not intuitive). The online help was good at explaining how to configure my PC for SFTP access. Nice product.
paid version of SSHAutotunnel to support its development and additional features
