I've used this app off and on over the years. Lately with my new phone Google messages isn't ideal so I've gone back to Textra. There are ads but they're not intrusive. it's a good app EDITED: The trouble I'm having after a few months is messages not being delivered sometimes for hours and I don't know if it's the app or my carrier

I am currently rating one star as the app is almost impossible to use for the last week or so, sort of instantly just started crashing. I've used Textra religiously for years with no issues. I don't want switch my messaging app, but if I don't see an update soon with a fix, I might just have to. Edited to reflect a new update installed and issue is no longer there. Back to 5 stars.

App is constantly crashing. Tried to get help from the dev and i was told "It's an ad crashing your phone specifically, we can reset your advertising ID to prevent it for a while or of course upgrade to pro will not have that issue." I have a Google pixel 6 pro, so I am surprised there's an issue with a flagship phone. The fix they offered fixed it for a day, then back to crashing. Told nothing they can do because it's their biggest ad supplier that is causing the problem. Upgrade or crash. :(
