I've been using this app for about 2 years now and have already written a 5 star review back in 2015. I still love the app, and even tried other sms clients to test if I'm not just set in my ways. I still always come back to Textra, and don't think that will be changing anytime soon. I have bought the ad free version, but the only ad you get is a small text like ad in the app. I highly recommend getting the ad free version just to support this awesome app
I was an iOS user for most my life. I recently switched to the S8 for a number of reasons and can I just say, I love this phone and OS. Its true that theres a trade off(iMessage) but It's beautiful. I was sad to see samsung's messaging app doesn't have customization like most others used to. So I did some research and found this app. I am so glad I did. Almost everything is customizable and that's what I love. It's amazing what these apps can do for your phone. Now I can say android is just as good if not better than iOS when reaching tech savvy needs such as mine lol.
Really nice app.. but could it be possible for a send message via internet/wifi? I live in a 3rd world country and cellphone signal is not always present in some parts. Even in the city, where it can be blocked by mountain/tall buildings... end to end encrypted messages would be nice too... but anyways thanks. Really smooth intuitive sms app. Nice job!
I absolutely love the customization options and the ability to tailor the app to your preference. It's fast and user-friendly. My only issue is that it does not allow you to access the system clipboard (yet. Please devs, this would make it perfect), a feature that would easily enhance my experience. Still, a great app. **EDIT: Contacted the devs. Turns out, it's an issue on my end with not being able to use the "Paste and Clipboard" option. Still can't use it (I troubleshooted with both the dev. and phone manufacturer with no luck), but at least I know it's an issue on my end and not the developer's. 5 stars.**
Def the best messaging app but I keep going back and forth between this and Android messages. Reason being on Android messages the quick reply from the pull down shows the last few comments from your concersation instead of just the last message and it is EXTREMELY helpful especially if your multitasking and can't remember what you last said. If you could add that It would be no contest! Keep up the good work!!
Looks very good so far seems to have a lot of features however I'm not sure if this can send over WiFi like Verizon messages does. That is very useful to me as my home is right at the edge of the limits of the standard wireless network. It really helps to be able to send messages over WiFi if you have no network connection. I still don't know if this program even does that.
The Android 7.0 MMS service can 'hang' for up to 20 minutes, especially during busy group chat sessions. There is no point raising the 'Cannot get MMS: timeout' error during this time, as it's annoying. We now keep retrying for a period to minimize the impact upon users. #1 messenger app used by millions of people with lots of custom options.
