No idea how this app has such a good rating... Basic features suck. Fetching for offline reading takes too long and doesn't run in the background. Once a new fetch starts, none of the old articles are available. Pretty important when a lot of major city subways do not have data or WiFi. Article audio turns off when the screen is off - so you're expected to constantly keep your phone screen active so you can listen to the audio? It's 2022 and to see such a lack of basic features is disappointing

I think the app developers and the people who manage the app should start improving the app by making small changes that will make it more user friendly. E.g. For most articles on the main page wuth headlines there is a thumbnail picture. However when one clicks on the article link and reads the article the larger image is not provided. Sometimes the thumbnail pucture is so small ine really needs to see the larger picture in the article and one cannot find it. Very frustrating. Hence 3 stars.

Quality of article content is good; reasonable to excellent research and preparation with article material is appreciated. Some articles offer great context and perspective. Not all articles can be saved - usually the more interesting &/or longer perspective or opinion items - why? I don't like this. Scrolling the G&M App shows a lot of repeated articles. I appreciate some repetitiveness is unavoidable but still too much. I'd like option to swipe out an article that I don't want to keep seeing.
