Alphabet Games Flashcards

With content from Oxford University Press.

Alphabet Games brings Oxford University Press’ Biff, Chip and Kipper into fun word games and flashcards designed to help children learn. It is an enjoyable way for children to practise reading high frequency words through playing games. This app contains in-built flashcards with common, high frequency words that children need to learn to recognise by sight. Some of the words are decodable, but the aim of the app is to get children recognising and reading all the words quickly, without decoding them. This game focuses on the letters of the alphabet to help learn words.

The 3 games are designed to help your child quickly recognise and read high frequency words, build reading confidence, whilst having fun at the same time! Sound detective helps identify alphabet sounds through selecting words with the spoken sound with which it starts. Sound snap is a fun game to snap the cards that start with the same alphabet sound. Fishing is an amusing way to identify the sound of words by selecting the spoken words. In addition to the games, the app has a mode where you can scroll through the entire card set to consolidate learning. You can also collect stickers to track your progress with the aim to unlock the rare stickers.
