Previously I have been able to buy a ticket in my son's name so that he can visit me. There is no ticket machine at his station so the emailed ticket was fantastic. I've just bought a new ticket & it's all different, I have to find a station with a ticket machine with the code provided & my card....what good is this when my son needs the ticket!!! Will try to find a new way to get this through somebody else in future.
This app could have been the best but it looks as if it is made for only Virgin train. It does not serve what it is developed for. When we have to queue up at machines to print tickets, it is the same queuing up at the tickets hall. But Virgin tickets you scan the phone at the gate. So who is fooling who? Let Trainline be for all train not VIRGIN TRAIN only
Be very careful. The app defaults to single...who gets a single anywhere. When you purchase in error due to said default customer service are as useful as a fart in a wind tunnel and fail to help saying they can't do anything so have to pay double the price to get home. Utter rubbish that you can't upgrade it to a return at the station they said if they had a physical ticket it wouldn't be a problem so why is it for trainline.
It's been ruined since the update where you have to out a destination in the live trains section. Previously, I could use the live trains section to see all train routes through my station so I could see what the best train would be to get. Now it's no different to the plan and buy section meaning a pointless duplication and waste of time for me as I now have to search multiple times to assess my opinions. Please return to previous format
Trainline awful company. The app provided me with a ticket that didn't have the correct time or station for where my first train went from. The customer service since then has been appalling. Sending me patronising answers. The "train ticket" did not even include the station I needed to get the train from. Trainline's response was "its in the email that you have to walk from the other station" - WHAT'S THE USE OF A TRAIN TICKET THAT DOESN'T GIVE YOU A TIME OR STATION WHERE YOUR ACTUAL TRAIN GOES FROM?? 3 members of staff in the stations and on the train completely agreed that this was a joke.
Telling me my return within a month ticket has expired, i bought it yesterday and have not used to go back home so how can it be expired. Surely it will wxpire next month. Absolute bollocks
