Simple enough and easy to use. Fast info and well detailed journey times. The information is quick and smooth without any sign of buffering. I'm not intending to purchase tickets through the app myself but it looks a lot easier to follow and is probably the apps strongest point. The only thing I personally would change is the stop details or (journey details) information banner in order to tint or shade it slightly to make it stand out a little better as white on white tends to disguise it as a selection.
The latest update had decided to not show my train ticket booked for tomorrow. A couple of days ago when I booked it, it was showing just fine. I have the email confirmation with the date and the and showing I've paid, but the ticket won't show up on the app when before it did. Horrible update wasting my time and will cause me issues at the train station.
Bought a friend a ticket .. sent him the email his phone wouldnt open the pdf. Got him to download the trainline app and sign in as me.. but because he dropped his phone on the way to station.. the top inch of he screen went white.. at the train station no one would help us.. had to buy more tickets costing £39 when the return ticket I had purchased was only £16.50..wont use this app again
Low rating is for the new update. I love this app, it makes life so much easier for someone with sight problems. The new update though has made it so I can't activate my ticket and my train is due in an hour. It's 6:40am so I doubt an e-mail will be answered. I hope the station can do something about it.
The app will not complete the ticket activation process on a Huawei phone. There are lots of posts about this in the reviews with no apparent fix being offered. App works on my Samsung and is good in all other respects.
This app used to be great, but now it seems it has become a money making scheme to charge passengers twice for every journey. Recent updates and the addition of a ticket activation message has rendered the app no longer fit for purpose, tickets will not activate, therefore apparently invalid despite the credit card being charged, funny how that appears to work.Apparently there is a telephone number to call if you are having problems, which fails to connect and when you finally obtain the number from an unhelpful member of staff, they appear unable to understand what I am saying, I guess this is so they do not have to refund any monies. Purchasing tickets at Manchester Piccadilly is made so difficult by lengthy queues, it is a lottery these days as to whether you are on the right train, platforms ate doubled up and staff members are nowhere to be found you find yourself having to liaise with drivers. Will this app be rectified?
