It's good but GO mode usually crashes / gets swapped out of memory if backgrounded. And the app gets quite slow if you open too many lines/modals consecutively (without going back to the main activity). It would be good if GO mode could show the position of the bus you're waiting for (easy) and adapt to new paths along the way and suggest faster routes if it becomes aware of them (harder).

i got this app years ago when it was good. i understand that ads support apps that need the revenue. when it started adding them it was fine. now you can barely see 4 different routes, and it introduced a subscription service?? as someone who works two jobs i loved the simplicity and not having to pay to use something essential for me. i find myself using my maps app sometimes more often than this, which never used to be the case. just makes me feel tired i guess.

We never considered blasting users with distracting ads - we think that’s wrong. Royale helps sustain Transit so if people can afford it, it helps us keep the lights on. We don’t want money to be a barrier for users, which is why we also give away free subscriptions, no questions asked. You can email us at royalereview@transitapp.com to learn more.

This app just keeps getting worse. Once upon a time this was fully free with by the minute updates on any buses, trains, etc. They then switched to a subscription model to see the route timings that were not in your immediate surroundings. Seemed like a waste of money to me but whatever. Now more recently you can't even get all your local info without paying. I can see my bus schedule but the go train schedule is locked behind a paywall. I live right next to the go station. Worth 0 stars now.

Hi! To look up any schedule, you can type the bus route in the "Where to?" bar, then select the stop you're interested in. Swipe to see the other direction. To see the full schedule, tap on "more departures" at the bottom of the 3 departure times. Hope this helps! You can always email us at review@transitapp.com with more questions.
What's new
We’re thrilled to announce that OC Transpo, every Sens fan’s favourite transit agency, is now giving EVERYONE IN OTTAWA free Royale (including the urbanist snakes). From Kanata to Barrhaven to the majestic bogland they call Orléans — it’s the best thing to happen to the 613 since Alexei Kovalev stole Boustan’s shawarma recipe and gave it to Chris Neil.
In other news? Nothing!
In news besides nothing? Bug fixes!
PS: rate us five stars for extra garlic sauce on the fries
