The hp42 is a great calculator, Free42 is that machine. Thomas Okken has been doing things with hp emulators for a long time which is probably why this app does the hp42 so well 2 things I miss from the calculator - I miss the calculator button feel - The phone just can not come close. - Turn the calculator off, slide you thumb from the orange shift button to the off button. Takes 2 screen taps on the app to shut it down Worried about your faithful HP42 dieing ? Fear not, this app will make your day. Thank you Thomas Okken
A father's gift. I had a calculator like this. My father gave it to me when he worked for 25yrs in Middle East. I was a fool to have lost it when a thief stole my bag back in college. Never gotten over it. Still looking for the very same type of calculator even now, if i could afford it. The app is brilliant. Warms my heart just using it. You don't know how much this made me happy somehow. Thank you.
Excellent RPN Calculator This is the greatest app for running numbers on any platform. My Galaxy S5 just rips through tricky numbers in meetings and catches bad ideas in hand waving, water walking spread sheets that can cause delays and waste money. If you can think in RPN, follow the documentation trail and load this app on everything you own. Get the big gun on your side, and shoot low--they might be crawling..
Uses all the screen = bad The Clear calculator button is under my LG G3's back button. Screen will not reduce. Looking for another.
Great RPN Calc Just like the HP 42S that got me through my mechanical engineering program. There's also a version I use on Linux and Windows.
Very nice emulation particularly the programmable features. I'm so happy to now have it on my smartphone. The HP-42s has been my favorite pocket calculator; clean, simple interface and mathematically powerful.
Eentering a number with an empty exponent (e.g. 1E or 1E-) would yield <Not a Number>. Fixed.
When the screen orientation was set to "automatic", it would not honor any system-wide orientation lock. Fixed.
