About this app

**NEW** Sub Rosa Pro for Android is now a PDF signing and editing app! Our new in-app subscription purchase allows for PDF and XFA documents to be digitally signed using your smart card.

You should not need Sub Rosa Pro for Android if you have purchased one of our Android PKard Reader bundles here: https://www.thursby.com/products/pkard-reader-android

Your Android PKard Reader bundle includes a software license for use with Sub Rosa for Android at no additional cost available for download here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thursby.pkard.subrosa.basic

Are you tired of having to take your heavy laptop, tangled charger, and clunky card reader with you on trips? Do you want to send signed and encrypted emails and access PIV/CAC protected sites right from your Android phone or tablet?

With Sub Rosa Pro for Android you can do this and more! Sub Rosa Pro for Android includes all of the same great features as Sub Rosa for Android with added support for 3rd party readers (any USB reader that shows up as a CCID device) and derived credentials.

Sub Rosa Pro for Android is a strong, two-factor CAC/PIV secure authentication agent and web browser that smoothly coordinates reader and card access on your Android phone or tablet. Sub Rosa Pro provides full access to your OWA calendar. Allowing you to view, create, and respond to events from your Android phone or tablet.

How does it work?

Instead of a username and password, Sub Rosa Pro for Android uses US Government CAC or PIV smart cards and PINs with authentication to a card reader accessory or derived credential. This allows you to log-in to two-factor websites and sign, encrypt, and decrypt email. This also gives you full access to calendaring, which makes managing and coordinating meetings easier than ever.

Not woth $100. I am using a Samsung S10+ and Identive USB-C CAC reader. Accessing email is hit or miss. When its on a roll it is great but after replying to and email it seems to get stuck and will no longer load new emails. As far as accessing secure web sites, after closing and re-opening the application several times I was able to login to NSIPS, but none of the menu options would work. Logged out and haven't been able to log in again. Going to keep trying but this will not be a primary tool.

Saw the bad reviews but decided to give it a try regardless and was surprised when I actually got into the Air Force portal at first, but then the problems started. I couldn't seem to access any other CAC enabled sites (not even email) and attempting to call support led to a voicemail box. On top of that the app kept loading and unloading my certs randomly making it frustrating to even attempt to use. Honestly not worth your time or $100.

Terrible. I accepted the fact that I can only access email and nothing else because it simply does not work for anything. However, email access is a hit or miss as well. Encrypted emails open 50/50 and often get stuck on "decrypting email." Unencrypted emails usually work, but some days all I get is just white screen and thing else. Edit: Updating to give it 1 star from 2 originally. Never receive any support from Thuesby and now on Android 11 UI3 this app is pure garbage. $100 down the drain.
